Property Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to purchase the Grade B listed Nunton Steadings. The current steading was built in the early 1700’s but the site was originally part of a Nunnery dating back to 1300. The Steadings were converted around 1999 and have been used for functions, offices, visitor centre, a craft centre and café.

Nunton Steadings have an intriguing history as they were involved in sheltering Bonnie Prince Charlie after the defeat of the Jacobite Army at Culloden.

This characterful U-shaped building has many separate rooms which could be utilised for a variety of uses. One of the larger function rooms has a bar and kitchen in close proximity with a section previously used as a dining area nearby together with toilet facilities including disabled toilets.

Located within easy reach of Culla Bay on the west coast of Benbecula, which is perfect for beach walks etc. and also a short drive from Balivanich, Nunton Steadings is located in an ideal area for visitors. There is ample car parking and a useful grassed courtyard situated.

Nunton Steadings is currently under the Nunton Steadings Trust which is a company limited by guarantee (SC166696) and is currently being wound up. As such the sellers require any prospective purchasers to put forward their proposed plans for the future use and preservation of this historic building, as required by the Office of Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR) SC049259, together with the price they are willing to pay.

All offers must be received by 12 noon on Friday the 13th of March 2020
