Property Description

If you were to write a “wish list” when looking for a property in the Outer Hebrides then this beautiful house would surely tick every box! Steeped in history, an additional sheet outlining some of the cottages intriguing past is attached.

With stunning views from every window, the inhabitants of the loch (common seal) can be seen hauling onto the rocks from the lounge window and there is a plethora of bird life often in sight.

The original stone cottage, built circa 1800 has been tastefully renovated worthy of its history from the carved chimney stone showing the Loch Eynort mountain skyline to the south to the attractive lounge with a stone fireplace and vaulted ceiling.

There with an en-suite bedroom off the lounge, and a stairway leads to the master en-suite bedroom. The extended area of the property offers a modern kitchen, bathroom and a further public room or third bedroom.

The property benefits from under-floor heating on the ground floor with radiators on the lower ground level and upper floor which is run from an oil-fired boiler.

The garden grounds of the property are equally as attractive as the cottage itself with pathways, mature trees, hidden seating areas, a stairway down to the water, polytunnel, raised beds, lawns to name but a few features. There is a renovated stone byre and further stone-built sheds. An additional area of ground was added to the title to extend the garden area. There is ample hard standing for vehicles.

This property is totally unique to the islands and viewing is highly recommended.

Locheynort is a rural crofting township. The central area of commerce on Benbecula is some 16 miles distant where you can find supermarkets, restaurants, bank, airport and hospital facilities. Daliburgh junior school, doctor’s surgery, supermarket and hotel is some 6 miles to the south with the ferry terminal at Lochboisdale some 4 miles further.
